Gday fellow Cape York enthusiasts.
I am beginning plans for a 2011 Cape York trip. Its our first time and we are keen to spend a fair while swagging it around the cape seeing hopefully everything it has to offer (or most of it haha). Plan on leaving Gold coast early May with 3 months off work to tour the top end. so will have plenty of time to poke about, exploring if tracks are closed, rivers to high etc.
we will be travelling in sufficiently modified Toyotas ( '89 3.2 litre TD dual cab hilux, and a troopy cut into an extra cab, so we shouldnt have any major worries) both with 6" lift, 35" muddies, ARB winch bars with winch's ofcourse, lockers & relevant recovery gear & spares.
I have done a fair bit of forum research both here and i am also a member of 4wd action forum. Both have supplied with loads of priceless information you couldnt get anywhere else.
However i would love some more detailed information on a good itinery for a cruizy, slow paced cape trip with plenty of time for off the beaten track exploring and 4wdriving OFCOURSE! aswell as some barra fishing, bit of bow-hunting and generally anything us blokes like to do when away from the mrs's!!! haha
THANKS in advance!!
Reece
