Have been cruising google earth and we like the look of Mosquito Point has anyone ever fished there? Or can we even access it? Any info on the area would be appreciated.

Cheers
Al

Hi Fishingal,
Not 100% positive, but I think you might have to get a permit to go there now.
Check with NPWS. If you do go, take a chainsaw, and crowbar. Doubt if many people would have been there by road in the last 20 years or so.

Cheers,
xina.

Just South of Temple Bay Geoff, on the way to Portland Roads by sea. I'm going to find my maps so I can give a better idea.

Didn't I mark it on my mud-map ? If I remember rightly, there is an aboriginal Birthing site there, and a freshwater spring around the high-water mark.

Cheers,
xina.

Ah right. I remember it on your map now. The round in used to be pretty rough from what I hear.

Sorry to be so long replying, but I've used my normal Quota, and have to wait 'till 11pm 'till the end of the month now.

I made a booboo before. I was thinking of First Stoney Point with the Birthing site and Spring. Mosquito Point is 2 back towards Temple Bay from there. You used to be able to get to First Stoney Point through Henry Wilsons' place, "Boynton", in Carron Valley, by road, but as I said, I'm pretty sure you'd need a Permit, as "Boynton" is surrounded by "Bromley" which we know you need Permits for.

There is no road in, [or wasn't in my day.] Don't know what condition roads would be in after all this time, hence the suggestion re. Chainsaw and Crowbar. I was there for both Jim and Kathy,[ Cyclones in 1984 ] and I know what can happen to them.

You would have to go by boat, and still need the Permits.

As you remembered Geoff, Fair Cape is a "fair cow" quite often.

Cheers,
xina.

Just been told this time, that the file is too big. Does any-one know how to down-size it please?
Thanks,
xina.

Hi Xina,

What is the file saved as?

If it is saved as an image (jpeg maybe), you should be able to reduce the file size by resizing it in photo shop or Windows viewer.

That's the best I can advise. I regularly resize my photo's to make it easier to send or attach to a presentation/report.

Lot's of luck

Hey guys,

Hubby's home and has been networking at work. He has information that there is a track into there but it is rough and like zina says chainsaw and winch r a must. Apparently if you have the time and the inclination to get there it is worth every bit... Time will tell we are going to give it a go..We'll take heaps of pics and keep you all posted.

Thanks for the mud maps will print them out.

Cheers
Al
