Hey Guys

Can anyone tell me the condition of the road to Sadd Point? A few years ago it was cleared and it was a relatively easy journey. Has the road been maintained with regards to overgrown trees and so forth?

Cheers in advance.

The road in is not too bad until you get to the Junction of Sadd Point and Usher Road. From this point out to Usher is (approx 5km from memory) can be a little difficult especially if you have a boat on your roof or are towing a trailer. Wayne the Ranger from Heathlands and a couple of locals went out to Sadd Point about 4-5 weeks ago towing a 4mt Polycraft on a trailer as well. Admittedly they ripped off a wheel and bent the axle but the trailer was only a light one and not designed for offroad use.

Are you based in Bamaga?

One other thing, I drove into Usher in December last year and it took me 3.5 hours from Bamaga. Going back a couple of years the same trip used to take about 8-9 hours for only 65km of road.

Thanks for the info Geoff.

I did live in Bamaga a few years ago. My wife and I are looking to return for a holiday in the coming weeks. We never made it out to Sadd Point in the time that we lived up there, only out to Usher. From memory the last few k's out to Usher were very ordinary compared to the rest of the track.

Hopefully we can spend a few days out there.

Thanks again for your help.
