There is more to the wildlife on the Peninsula than just Croc's and Barramundi, though admittedly these are of most interest for many.

Mate of mine was up the in June/July '05, while there he took saome shots of some of the wildlife.
Thought it might be of interest.

Sign of things to come, maybe.

Not quite

A little brown frog

A green one
OK, so I'm stating the obvious, so what.

But wait, there's more.
Not all the wildlife is cute and cuddly, or green for that matter.
Following is a few more shot's, and yes, there is the obligatory croc shot.

Snakes are cool, I like them, well some of them.
There are some not so nice ones around, if in doubt treat all of them as dangerous.

Size comparison, he's about 1.8m tall, as well as being pottential road kill.

They came across this little fella while collecting firewood.
I doubt that leather gloves would be much protection against this bloke.
This fella would have covered the top of a beer can.
Be CAREFUL when collecting wood.

Croc shot.
Actually this was the only croc they saw, I'm told it was on the other side of the river at Port Douglas.
They took this shot on there return journey.

Just because you don't see any of the above locals doesn't mean they are'nt there.

Yeah, that is one sizeably snake.
You never know what you might see on the tracks.
Hoping to see some of these critters muself when we get up there in 57 days.

BTW, they reckon Cassowary's can be dangerous and have been reported to attack people, unprovoked.
They can cause you some serious damage.

Nedly, were they attachments directly from your computer or are they hosted at a site like photobucket?

Okay...

That means it's a link problem to third party sites. I'll see if I can't fix this somehow.

I did some looking around the net for answers. I think it might be a slow connection from the website host... which is Yahoo, so hopefully it should come good eventually.

We'll just have to wait and see.

Or in this case... wait and DON'T SEE A BLOODY THING!

It's only a problem on this thread...

Nedly, can you start a new thread with the pics in the Photography forum just to see if it shows?

I gave you a promotion just the other day ... is that not enough? Perhaps you'd like to return to 'Problem Croc' status, hey Mister! :)

Yes master Bates, I apologies for my impertinance master Bates.
You generosity knows no bounds.
It won't happen again.

Well, not 'till next time anyway.

BTW, what's the verdict on the photo issue?

batesy

I think the issue must have been with this thread. I haven't the faintest idea why. All the proper buttons and pressy type things in the control panel seem to be turned on ... so I'm none the wiser (which is pretty much standard for me).
