Hi all,

This is a track that we haven't ventured into too much. We visited the area about 10 years ago, but it was mostly a drive through but not spend any time sort of trip, in order to get to the Tip quicker.

This year my gang plan to meet up at Karumba, and spend a bit of time traversing & exploring the area north.

Last time we went through the Aboriginal settlements, let's just say that they weren't all that pleasant a place, and camping nearby was not even entertained. With all the recent changes (Government intervention, Alcohol restrictions) I have read that things are much better.

Has anybody got any tips on places to go, things to see on this route? Suggested camping areas, kid friendly areas, fishing hotspots, Permit requirements/ costs, etc etc??????

I have also been trying to find some information about some falls on either the Mitchell or Alice Rivers. Any idea's ?

Cheers

Scorcher,
The first thing I would be doing is giving John and Mary a call at Musgrave.

Thanks Ant,

I'll add that to my list. Have been doing heaps of Googling also, which has thrown up plenty of info, but a bit of first hand info would be great.

It seems like a great expanse, with plenty of rivers, so plenty of options I would think. Also, a good mixture of Aboriginal, National Parks & Private Property.

Cheers

The only falls i have heard about are near Wrotham Park Resort on the banks of the Mitchell River. But as Ant said, John and Mary will know more.
