Okay, I thought I might high-jack this For Sale thread to blatantly spam/promote my own venture.
After enjoying an underfunded semi-retirement in Northern NSW for the last 12 months I'm now ready to get back into the thick of things.
Yep, I gotta go to work. Damn it.
Not to worry, I only try to do the stuff I love for work. When that's not available, well, that's when I have to get the stick out and coax the missus into employment.
Anyway, let me get back on topic. I'm back into the print game but on a different team. Rather than sourcing content for magazines, I'm now sourcing printing for magazine publishers. Or tourist operators, or anyone else for that matter.
So, if anyone out there in Cape Yorker forum land knows of a business owner or friend that needs low cost printing, then direct them to me.
There is, of course, a catch. I can only do certain jobs for people because my business involves importing printed material from China. So not every print job is suitable. That said, I will give anyone interested all the relevant info they need to save money, whether it be by redirecting them to another Australian printer or by telling them how to operate smarter.
Now before anyone gives me a kick in the arse for sourcing products from China instead of keeping business local, let me state upfront that the Cape Yorker Magazine very nearly died in its first incarnation. My wife and I were well and truly shafted because we were green to the industry. I almost cried when I pried open the first carton in Cairns in 2005. The sales staff didn't exactly mislead me, they just kinda neglected to inform me of a few things.
However, I learnt my lesson. I now know lots of people paying exorbitant print costs, yet still getting crap service.
So, that's it. I'll come straight out with it...
