hi guys,
well i was going to the cape leaving on the first and meeting a mate at weipa who left last saturday.
He had some very bad luck and i beleive some of you guys have probably seen his maroon nissan patrol and 4.75 side console as it's still up in weipa waiting to be transported back on a truck.
He has arrived back home by plane and is pretty gutted by what has happened 2 days into his holiday.
I decided to can my trip till next year as it wouldn't be the same being up there while he had his holiday ruined, and i beleive i wouldn't enjoy the trip as i would have.
I haven't had a good look at the photos but it looks like both could be a right off.
Jimbo That's really bad News mate. I mean really bad for your mate.
What happen is everyone ok?
Oh mate that's sad, only 2 day's in S*#t man.
I don't even know the man and I can't believe it.

yeah, i beleive he's not happy with the insurance mob either.
as you know he would of spent a lot of money getting ready for this trip and didn't even wet a line, i'm not real happy myself so could only imagine how he feels. I only spent about $500 or so plus food and got everything packed ready to go so no great loss for me as everthing can still be used for other trips around the place.

I beleive he was a local guy that run the bum of my mate also, if i'm wrong please correct me.
I hope he learns to slow down a bit so he doesn't wreck to many holidays for the tourists.

I think he's a local. I'm not 100% sure though.
It 's a good example of what can happen on the PDR. It's a 100km/h road, but when you get a DIP sign you have to hit the anchors in a hurry. This is probably an example of the worst case scenario - hitting another car.
I think the luckiest thing to come out of this is that their young fella wasn't seriously injured. You can replace car, boat, money ... but not the young fella.
Jimbo, I hope you and the guys get up here next year. Shame that you all miss out on what could have been a great trip.

Bugga of a way to end a holiday, especially before it starts.
Thankfully your mate and his passengers all got out of it OK.
It could easily have been a lot worse.
What a shame. Sorry to see that..
I heard about it but didn't think it would effect any of us on the forum
chin up look at the bright side . Your mate and family still have each other and no one died

Jimbo69, crikey, I hope everyone is OK. Damn shame about stuffing up the trip. I cant imagine how you guys are feeling. I have 2 small boys and that would be a nightmare having a boat come through the back of your vehicle like that.
I would be interested to know how he goes with Insurance. I sell insurance for Suncorp and if there are any dramas, I would be interested to know, so we can help other blokes out. Drop into the shop sometime and we can have a chat. Insurane companies are just like banks. They want your money, but when you want it back, you have to pull teeth...........

No one was hurt, his young fella was sitting on the opposite side to where the boat hit and pushed the fridge through.
Burdekinbarra,
I will probably call in and see you as i have a few weeks at home starting tomorrow, I also bought a little 12ft tinny to keep me busy over the holiday, you'll have to give some tips on where the crabs are running, and what's biting.
I'm off to the footy in Tsv on Sat night, corp box, everything is put on, should be a good night.
