Anyone thinking about leaving their beloved pet at the Yaps Boarding Kennels, Cairns QLD, DON’T DO IT!! Trying to do the right thing, we left our babies at Yaps for 10 days, whilst touring Cape York (National Parks). We were disgusted to find them both suffering from Canine Cough (one un-treated!) and gained over 4 Kg’s each during their short stay with Yaps. It cost us $600 in boarding fees and vet costs, which they refuse to reimburse. They also had no intention on telling customers waiting to board their pets, that this highly contagious virus was present. They haven’t even apologised nor asked how our pets are recovering, and they are not reviewing any of their policies. Not a great way to start your holidays, when you cannot re-board/camp with contagious dogs!! Our dogs were fully vaccinated against Canine Cough. For the health and safety of your pet please reconsider leaving your dogs at this facility.
You won't believe this place guys. Wouldn't mind booking in there myself. Just Google it to see for yourselves.
Cheers,
xina.

If I still had a dog what a place to put it in.
Probably wouldn't want to go home when you picked your pet back up.
I am glad to see some places go over the top at times.

WOW! Beaches pet resort looks so nice! And pretty cheap, considering how spoilt they get. I really wish we'd sent our fur kids there.

Funny you should mention them.
When I was living in Cairns, my dog spent two nights there and came out with Kennel Cough which he then passed onto our other dog. I didn't think much of it at the time. Seems to be a continual 'problem' there.
From memory, I was told that there was no guarantee that the dogs could not get it.
You can get your dogs inoculated against kennel cough if you're going to put them in those places.
Cheers,
xina.
