I love those pics...

The frenchmens one because it's just such a great area over there.

And those trailer pics ... gotta smile every time I see them. You must have thought "What the hell have I done to deserve this?!"

Not really,It was part of the trip,I got the trailer a few years before from a guy who loved the cape, as I have always said BE PREPARED, mechanically and mentally and everything will work out, not once had I stressed out as we were prepared for the worst. Breking something on the 4by and costing heaps it might have been a dfferent story, I loved every minute of it,anyway it would have been a boring post if nothing happened,

I dread this stuff...

Water plus electric everything, doesn't go together. Good reason why I would like a standard wagon with no central door locking, electric windows and all that other crap.

What crossing was that, campdog?

Batesy, from memory, I think campdog said it was Nolans Brook on another forum board. Photos are just great, arent they. I love em, especially since digital cameras came out. you can take stacks of em, store em somewhere and then go back over em again and again. brings back memories and get u all excited to start planning another trip.

Mate, we took off for weipa nad got a few bits and pieces and welded it back up usning 2 deep cycle batteries. Got back to lakeland before it needed welding again. wanted to do the bloomfield but thought that might be pushing my luck too far,

Yep , Nolans Brook last year, thats why I still have my old patrol, the trailer got hung up on a log in the water.Filled the old girl up with water and the fridge as well, took a couple of days to dry out and still going strong. The trailblazer fridge shut down for a while but innox dried her out and still going strong.
Done a stupid thing a few years ago. Was out camping on our own in a very remote spot and decided to cross a creek without walking first, water over the bonnet and in the drivers window,4b stopped and wouldnt go, took the breather off the motor and got it goind and somehow reversed out.
Had to strip ca to dry out, damage list when I got home
- starter motor stuffed, dont like cranking under water $400
- Wet video camera -$200 repairs
- stuffed CD stacker
- Diffs and gearboxes full of water
- New headlights, full of water
- Clutch booster - full of water
- new filters.
-all because I said no its not deep.
I did walk nolans
almost forgo - new alternator as well
