G'day All,

I need some feedback.

I've got two versions of my book cover and I'd like to know which one you lot like better.

Batesy,

Cover No2 does it for me.

I like the colours, the Cape York feel, and the overall "Vibe" !!

Couldn't you ask an easier question.
I suppose it all depends on what you want the cover to say.

For visual impact cover no.2 wins.
The colours meld nicely and gives a sense that the story may be turbulent and possibly a little violent.

Cover no.1 has a more ethereal look about it, like this blokes soul is wandering around in the unknown maybe.
For me the cover seems to indicate the story may be a mystery.
The books title really stands out, but does seem a little simplistic.

Personally, I'd be more likely to pick up Cover No.2

Or have I over analysed the whole thing.

While cover no.1 is good, i would have to say cover no.2 is a lot more eye catching and the one i would pic up off the shelf.

This is great, fellas.

This is fantastic feedback for me. I'm showing these covers (which I can't claim are designed by me, they're pro jobs) around to everyone I know. It's been great to hear what people have to say about them both.

Book covers are primarily used to impress buyers. So, I guess it stands to reason that the potential buyers should be listened to when it comes to cover impact.

Great stuff.

Cover 2 is my pick.

Of course, neither of them even come close the the cover of the new 2009 Cape Yorker magazine!!!!!!!! Also a pro job............

Jesus, John, did your parents name you after John The Baptist ...? Because you're hoping for a bloody miracle.

Hey Batsey,
Don't forget to send me a copy when it does eventually go to print so that we can review it in the Cape Yorker.

Going by the time it has taken you to decide on a front cover, we should see it reviewed in the 2022 edition of Cape Yorker.

I gave up on those type of miracles when NSW lost the second state of origin this year.
I guess there is always hope for the third one but it just doesn't feel right knowing that they have already lost the game. There is always next year.

If that's the case then maybe I better stick my nose in. I like number 2, and no I don't give in to peer group pressure!!

Hope you make a fortune

NSW...? Origin...?

I didn't see a NSW team at the origin games. All i saw was a handful of male models in tight blue shirts dancing around cuddling people. Maybe the real origin team ended up at a jazz ballet performance somewhere. Mix-ups happen. No one's fault.

Hopefully the proper team will turn up for number 3. Not that it matters ... the mighty maroons will still beat 'em.

@Loxsmith: I hope I make a fortune too. But I'll settle for several cartons of Rum and cola cans ... just to make up for the ones I've had to drink to write this bloody book.
