Auto Gas on the Cape

Hi everyone,
I'm heading up the cape in late July, and my Patrol has a diesal/ gas system in it. I'm wondering where I'll be able to buy gas from, north of Cairns?

I am not sure about places like Mareeba or Mossman but north of there there is no auto gas available. Only ULP and Diesel.

I have bought the book on the Cape written by Ron and Viv Moon.

It has some good information regarding fuel and other important track and town info, worth the purchase for me.

We are also heading up to the tip early August, may see you up there somewhere, along with hundreds of others I guess.

It's still quiet up here atm. There is a 'rumour' going around that there are a few people camped up at the Lion's Den and are heading this way. Hopefully the rumour turns out to be true.

I understand that Cooktown is the last place heading north that you can get LPG. Not 100% sure though.

I spoke to a mate recently who spent the Queens Birthday Long weekend next to the Lion Den and said there were lots of people there mainly nomads. So I dont know if many of that lot would make the trip to the tip.
Apparently one of the locals does reptile shows at the Lions den from time to time.

I know of two vechiles from QNPatrol 4wd club that are heading up beginning of July, with their camper trailers, also at least two from the Tvan club heading that way mid - late July.
