I like to get shots at different angles and heights.
This was our first morning in Apai and woke to a great sunset, grabbed camera and tripod and bolted across the road. Set up the tripod and then realised I had taken the tripod mount off the camera.Oh well decided on hand held, 2 steps backwards and in a hole, twisted ankle and a over t, wasnt such a bad angle. The first shot has my leg in it and the second the tripod, good view from down there,

Hey Campdog.....I deleted your dual post for you !
By the way......Where is Lesson 1 ?? Or have I missed something?
I took about 1400 + photo's from memory on last years Cape trip, but none even get near any of your shots.
I've got a number of camera's, with my favourite being a Canon 400D with an EFS 18-55 lense and an EFS 55-250 lense which I've had for over a year now.
Just need to work out how to use it !!

Thanks Scorcher. These are from Samoa a couple of weeks back.Posted a couple other in the photo section about a bus.
My last cape trip was 1bout 1500. Presently culing Samoa trip, down from 1700 to 900. Not hard to so when you take 50 shots of each palm tree.
Mines a Pentax K10D grand prix, 16-45, 17-70, 70-300, 100mm macro and a 50mm ancient prime lens, and my tripod.

Yeah, I try different angles in an attempt to get a slightly different aspect to a shot.
All you have to remember is to make sure no one else is around with there camera, especially when they consider you to be the best thing around to get a shot of.
Can't remember what it was I was trying to get a shot of, possibly some tree in flower with a cloud formation as a backdrop, there might have been a dead tree in the frame as well, though I'm fairly sure it didn't work.
BTW, I don't have many good angles and this is definately not one of them.
