Thanks Schorcher. Trailer is made by PAcific Aluminum Trailers based in Brisbane. Full Aluminum, independent coil suspension.
www.pacificaluminiumtrailers.com.au/ Contact Danny and mention Chris from Sydney and he will know which trailer you are talking about. We work together and built this trailer to go to the Cape.
Nice vehicle! Sounds like you have all the gear covered on it too.
Danny sure does make a nice trailer. I was looking at getting one from him last year and he was very helpful with all my ideas.
Make sure you take a heap of shots of both your car and trailer up there and I am really keep to see how it all goes.
Good luck and most importantly, have lots of fun.
Like I needed to tell you that!!

A friend up here bought a trailer that looked exactly like that. I cant remember the brand on it but he paid $7000 for it from a tourist that didnt want to tow it back down the Cape. Wish i could find one for that price. :D
Nice rig too Smithy, be a shame to get some of that infamous Cape York dirt on it.

The Cape York dirt will add some character!!!
As for the trailer you can buy a new one of these for about $10k with the independent suspension. If you want to go leaf sprung you would be looking around $8k. I may even sell mine when I get back....;0)

Does that price include electric brakes? When did you say your Cape trip was?

Doesn't include electric brakes but can have them added. Personally don't think you really need them. Trailer fully loaded weighs less than 700kgs.
Leave Syd 16/5/09. Will be in Seisa approx 31st of May. Itinerary is in the itinerary section.

No worries well if you see us come say hello. Shouldn't be too many riggs like mine getting around at the same time. We have around 4 weeks Nth of Cairns.

No worries either way our itinerary will no doubt change. What I will probably do is update on the forum as we reach destinations with internet. If we are close by then we can meet up

Is there a remote chance that it might be open on the way back?

Yeah I rang the ranger station and they said maybe in a week or so. Website at the moment says opening in June. We are planning on going on our way back down then do the Creb track too.

You might have to keep your eye on the Creb track. It seems to open and close all the time. It is normally more closed than open if you know what I mean.

I will most likely be around the Punsand Bay area on Sunday or Monday. Might see you on the road. The food is good in the restaurant there.
