Came across a copy of the Flavours of Sea and Sun recipe book in the local news agency a few weeks ago.
I keep forgetting to buy on line so picked up the mag when I saw it.

I finally got around to trying one of the recipes on the weekend, the stuffed squid.
It was excellent, came out really good, very tasty and was easy to prepare and cook.
I have to be honest, I did use a few bowls and made a bit of a mess of the kitchen, but that's a cook problem. It's surprising how slippery those squid hoods can be, especially after a few beers.
I deviated from the recipe a little by adding prawns to the stuffing as well as cooking some in the tomato sauce.
Also, I just went down to the local seafood place and bought cleaned squid hoods, easy.

If you haven't already tried this one give it a go, you won't be disappointed.

Nice Nedly,
I may have to get you to do book reviews for me in the future.

The thing I really like about this book (Flavours of Sea and Sun) is the fact that all the seafood is easily accessible and the recipes are tried and tested. I was actually there for most of them and even had the opportunity to sample both the food and recommended wine.

One of my favourites is the redclaw - give it a go.

I think the next one I'll be trying is the Barra pie.
Looks interesting.

We'll be heading west for Easter, off to my favourite little secret camping spot beside a river, I'll have the traps packed so hopefully we'll catch a few red claw.

Should have thought of that before starting the thread.
I'm sure we could come to some arrangement that I would find beneficial :)
