That should be handy for all visitors.
Maybe a mud map of where their located for those that dont know.
Don't ask me how?

Another good one would be of all the different types of chartered tours available up at the tip and surrounds. Big job, i know, it would be good for visitors and local business but i wouldn't want to put you out of the job.

Yeah, that should be an easy task Stacky. You have no idea how many businesses are up here for such a small area. I will try and get a mud map done though.

I still have to put the prices for Punsand Bay up yet.

You just forgot to include the directions to your secret fishing spots, including THAT Billabong !!

Anyway, it will be a good excuse for me to spend some time on Google Earth !

Yeah, that works for me Geoff.

I've got a pretty fair idea of the area, but google earth isn't all that clear. Appears to be pretty clouded over.

I just looked at Google Earth and i could almost say for certain that you will not find it with or without cloud cover. More than happy to show you of course if you managed a trip up this way.

Hi John,

There is always work around if you know who to ask as most people like to head out for the wet rather than get stuck up here. I close the museum and info centre here at the end of this month and i wont open it again til mid May. That leaves me plenty of time to go fishing with no one around.

Ive often thought of downsizing the house to eliminate the mortgage and travelling for a while, but I think I would run out of money quick as well. But cant see the Mrs parting with her gardens etc.

No rental areas up here mate. There is on Horn, POW and Horn islands though. The closest thing up here is a business lease. I have 2 and let me tell you. They are not the easiest to come by. Impossible for those that havnt been up here a while and not known.

I forgot to mention the four dugout canoes i have floating around. You would have seen one of them on my verandah at the Centre.

What about a camp trailer at muttee heads.
Could always camp on Nolans Brook and offer encouragement for the Patrols coming through,
I have seen the canoes.I met a bloke in weipa who has one as well.

That's another thing I really miss Geoff. The beach shop. 'Specially after cyclones. Wonderful what washes up. Got a dugout on the mainland when we were on Night Island, but had to sell it to the guy who used to have the souvenier shop in Cooktown, as it was too cumbersome to tow behind a 16ft Tinny to Portland Roads, with all the other gear we had to take.
He used to come up buying from locals and beachcombers once a year.
He'd be long gone by now.
Cheers,
xina.

Nothing wrong with a Camping Trailer at Muttee Heads although i prefer the mouth of the Jadine myself.

A set up on Nolans would be ideal.

Hey, i know how you could make money and explore the cape. Set up shop on the southern bank of Nolans Brook. Design some floaties to fit all Patrols. It would be sure to be a hit.

The slogan could be something like "Just when you think you are at your lowest, buy some of Campdogs floaties, one size fits all"

Every year i head down the coast looking for dugouts. I come across 2 at the start of this year. Gave them away to friends. It really is amazing what gets washed up.

Mate, i reckon it would be worth a go. I would like to look after Moreton for a while. A friend managed it for a year in 2005 and i missed my chance to go down there but still have permission to go to the falls and such.

Guided tours on the Telegraph would probably work you know. I could see it being popular.

I think I could handle either place for a while. Not sre about Tele track Tours as you can only drain the water out of the patrol so many times, anyway I hate going through first.

Yeah, thats true. At least if someone goes first they can pull you out if you ever get stuck.

Who's going to be going first on the Tag-a-long? Probably Nedly and Ant hey? It will be good to see the itinerary. Depending on where they are going, i might try and get some time off to attend.

If he and his partner are even half into 4WD'ing, fishing, camping etc, as you are Campdog, then they would love it i'm sure.

Either that or as soon as the wedding is finished, fly up and join the tag-a-long.:p

G'day John,

The 2009 Cape Yorker Tag-a-long is the first of which may very well turn into a yearly event (depending on how well behaved those Bundy drinkin' Queenslanders are....;) ).

Have a squiz at the tag-a-long thread.
http://capeyorker.com/forums/showthread.php?p=9111#post9111

I'm sure that even Mexican's wouldn't be descriminated against, however, this years is getting close, and a lot of the planning & bookings have already been done I suspect.
