I am glad to say that after quite some time and many discussions with different businesses, that I now have Cape Yorker Spare Tyre Covers in stock. I have included an image of the artwork with this post and I can say that they do look pretty impressive on the tyre. I put one on the spare tyre on my trailer and I think the value went up by at least 100%.
These will be for sale through the online section of the website within the week and will sell for $70.00ea including postage to anywhere in Australia.
They have been made to suit large 4WD tyres and should cover a fair range of the most commonly used tyres.

Let me know if you have any feedback.

They look really good Ant and the price isnt expensive either. They should be a hit. I would get one if i had my spare mounted on the back but it is under the car.

Your 100% correct on this Camodog. Toyota ones do come with spare wheel, spare diff, spare shockies etc for all the popular model Nissans that we find stuck on the Cape and have to fix.

Here is a pic of the cover actually fitted. I had to go and find a vehicle to try them out on, as I don't even have a rear tyre carrier. This car belongs to my mechanic.
The tyres on his car are 285/75/R16 They are brand new Toyo tyres with a mud terrain pattern.
The cover I have on the spare on my trailer are on 15 inch rims so the covers do fit on a variety of tyres. Mind you, the tyre pictured would be the largest that I would try to fit the cover on.

Thanks Geoff,
Just trying to give people what they ask for. There are a few more ideas in the pipeline but some of these won't come about till next year.
The next project is a series of custom built fishing rods built specifically for Cape York and branded under Cape Yorker magazine. There will be four rods in total (at this stage). Two Lurecasters (baitcasters) and two threadline models.
I will have a full set to bring up with me at the end of this month for promotional work. I have been testing and playing with custom rods for the past two years and now believe I have a combination that I am happy with.
Best part is that I can retail these for (hopefully) $250. including rod bag. That is a very good price for a fully customised rod. Very little mark up in this but I want to get them out there so people can enjoy them.
More on this later...........

I have settled on the Hastings blanks. These are by no means a 'cheap' custom rod. All components are of a very high quality. I get really annoyed when the words "custom rod" are associated with "high price". Sure, it takes a lot of work to build each rod but I think some builders do charge too high a rate. Like I said, I am just about passing the rods on for what they are costing me to have built. My reasons for the lower price is to get these rods out into the hands of as many people as I can so that they can appreciate a good rod.

They are made by Larry Lockwood from LJ Custom Rods. I have known him personally for over 10 years and he is an absolute perfectionist. You can check out his credentials on :www.ljcustomrods.com

Ant,I first started buying my components from Jack Erskine in the late 80s and then from local suppliers.I never made a lot of money from custom rods, thats probably why I dont do it now. When you buy a custom rod you are buying a quality item that is designed for a specific application.
I am still using the same rods I made nearly 20 years ago.Sounds like you are on a winner with the rods you are having custom made.
I tried to sell custom made loomis rods years ago and they were expenive then.Peter Horibin introduced me to them then.I think he was then editor of modern fishing at the time.
