Hi Ant,
Good to hear about the video footage thread. I was worried that the size of the clip might have been too much.
Be great to have a look at your new toy as well. I'm using a Sony VX2000 for all the video stuff and a couple of film Nikon SLR's and a digital Fuji Finepix 9500 for all the stills.
Does the one you have use cassette or disc?
Geoff,
The VHOLDR camera is fantastic as it really puts you right in amongst the filming. You can attach it to your vehicle, helmet (for those riding bikes, etc), and a heap of other places. I am actually looking at using one for a bowhunting video and attaching it to the actual bow.
As for other cameras, I use a Sony HDRSR7E for all my video footage now. This camera works on a hard drive and eliminates the need for tapes which are unpredictable in the humidity. This camera is a HD (high def) camera too.
For stills, I use Nikon slide cameras (got four of them), plus a Sony a350 DSLR and an Olympus 720sw for digital work.
Slowly moving going full-time with digital but still love the slides.
I will have the VHOLDR with me in November so you can have a look when we get together for the Somerset section if you like.

That would be great Ant. I'm looking forward to it. Be good to see the camera as well.
I would love to upgrade my video camera but the bank account seems to disagree with me.

Hi Ant,
Just checked out the VHOLDR Camera. Looks the goods!
We've been playing with an Oregon ATC 2K helmet cam, getting some fire footage. This type of technology gives you a whole new perspective on the action.

A cheap way to get some good footage is to buy a small web cam, seal it in a bit of polypipe, attatch it to your bull bar and connect to your laptop, and hit the tele track. If yo have a laptop the total outlay on ebay is about 50bucks.

Thats where the best footage is.3 footage under water, only five minutes thankyou very much.
Look for one that will fit neatly into a small piece of polypipe about 50mm.You can then sealastic a piece of clear perspex or glass over the end.Seal up the other end and run an extension USB cable back to your laptop.
I found the idea on google one day when looking at GPS products.
