Hi Everyone,
Just to let all of you know that Endeavour Shipping has been bought out by Seaswift on Monday. Endeavour had operations in Cairns, Thursday Island, Bamaga and Weipa.
Anyone wishing to freight to these destinations (excluding Weipa as freight can be sent via road) will have to use Seaswift.
I will try to get hold of a price list but at this stage it will cost $257 per cubic metre from Cairns to Seisia.

Yeh,
one freight company monopolising the Cape. Can't wait to see the new price rises this wet season when there is no trucking freight.

Yeah, tell me about it Stacky. We were paying $185 a cubic metre with Endeavour Shipping. Thats a bloody big price rise to $257.

here in Lockhart we don't get the privilige of using any other freight but Sea Swift and their bloody expensive. Our local store manager does his best to truck goods in when it's dry to save but i am sure Sea Swift make up for that loss when it turns wet again.
The only transport we have in the wet is Scare Trans oops i mean Sky Trans. They charge us $450 for a one way flight to cairns.
We are being robbed, i can get to bali cheaper than that.
That's my winge for the day!

The price of a ticket from Bamaga to Cairns is not much betty Stacky. Its actually cheaper to get the ferry across to Thursday Island, the the water taxi to Horn, then the bus to the airport and fly out on Qantas. And somehow it still manages to be about $200 cheaper. Imagine that.
