Not a problem mate. All going well, I will be up there early enough on Monday to call in on my way to Punsand.

John,
Given the credibility of the regular forum members, I may be able to get us in to some of the spots! See how I go......

I don't think Tasmania via Cape York is going to work out for me next year.

It might be my turn to micro-chip Ant or Campdog, to find out those "secret spots". If the last one I got is anything to go by, it may be well worth it !!

Looks like i will be blowing past you on Sunday Ant,
I am heading to Cairns.
Are you in a Black G-Pak?
What Channel are you on while on the road?
Do you come up through Mareeba or Mossman?
I'm in a white 75 Series Troopy (dual wheel carriers, no roof racks, a toy cow as mascot strapped on top of me bull bar)....but as you know 80% of Cape vehicles are white 70 Series Cruisers (the toy cow makes it different)
I'll keep an eye out for you.

Stacky,
I am in a grey Landcruiser Sahara (1987 model) with Cape Yorker windscreen stickers on both front and rear screens. I will be towing a trailer with a PolyCraft boat on the roof.
Ch 13 is what I stay on for the Cape.

Talk to you Sunday. We are leaving Cairns between 5-6am.

ant,

just thought you should know...its the dry season...and its been rainin every day!!!???. no dust on roads, but damp durin the night.

all i know is, it must be caused by the same thing that makes my wife cranky with me...the thing that makes me run out of beer...and of course the same thing that makes my lures get snagged in trees...yep, you guessed it.....

BLOODY GLOBAL WARMING!!!!

cheers,
bat

Ha ha ha ... why don't you tell everyone the truth now?

When have you ever left Cairns at the time you say you will? I reckon you'll be off at the usual time ... crack of noon.

Well, Ant made it in one piece. He arrived in Bamaga just after 1 yesterday. Bit hard to mistake the ol' polycraft on the roof and the Cape Yorker stickers on the windows.

Well hopefully he got some decent fishing in yesterday with Bat. There were a lot of big fingermark around the rockbars in deep water on Sunday.

Fishing with Bat was good. The weather calmed a little for us on the day but it was still pretty rough out there. Bat sure knows his stuff and is one of the better guides that I have been with over many years. He really knows his boat and how to handle her.
I don't think I saw another boat the whole day we were out and we got some good fish considering the weather.
It was an absolute pleasure to finally meet him and his wife and to spend some time with them both- I'm definitely going back!
