I thought that it was too good to be true :D
And as for "Suspicious" or having a "phobia", whilst we are yet to bump into each other Campdog, I can read you like a book !!!!
You will come to your senses one day & upgrade to a Landcruiser.

I never said anything about Toyotas or Land Cruisers, only said I got a cruiser.
Like I said Toyota Drivers are suspicious. Great minds think alike Scorcher, you must have owned a Patrol one stage in your lifetime.

Tabletop HJ 45 (1 trip to the Cape)
S/W FJ 55 (2 trips to the Cape)
Jackaroo (moment of madness !!) - (1 trip to the Cape & only just made it back !)
2.4 D Hilux (3 trips to the Cape)
80 Series Landcruiser (2 trips to the Cape)
No NISSAN's so far Campdog, I'm afraid to tell you.

Ok the thought has crossed my mind. I actually looked at one on the way home today,2005 turbo landcruiser,96,000ks,and loaded with extras, winch, dual batteries, drawers, etc etc.Thats as far as it went, the $47,500 tag sent me back to reality fast.Too good a 4b for me.

I want one more good trip out of the patrol before i upgrade. The toyota looked good but couldnt justify drowning a 47k b when the old Patrol loves a swim.

Had a Landrover once but got rid of it real quick,Only has two patrols since. With work I has an old Landcruiser and a Suzuki and a Toyota Hilux,
We used the work vehicles as Track inspection with the State Rail.Had rail wheels so we could drive along the line. The toyotas made a good rail vehicles the wheelbase was right for the line.
If I was going to but a cruiser it would be an 80 series.Great build up 4b.

Have to agree about the 80 series. Last of the tough breed.
Mine is a 96 model, ex Telstra. I've been thinking what I would do if it started to "get tired", and have come to the conclusion to just spend $ on this one.

Im up to 415,000ks on the Patrol and has been baptised twice, once head under water in river and arse in Nolans Brook, starting to get a bit tired so I will start on the suspension and body mounts and rubbers soon and start getting ready for the next trip.Put new shockies and springs on 5 years ago and the Cape has put it to the test.
Whats my next 4b.who knows.

You can't beat the ol 80 for a tuff truck and with the right mods like the Nissans of the same vintage they will go anywhere, I had a look around last year at the 100 series, and the new Hilux decided to stick with the 80, as I own it and there's still plenty of life left in it and I reckon it performs better off road in the ruff stuff then one of these new IFS vehicles would. I have seen a few that have been modded hilux's with the IFS cut out and replaced with a live axel but I couldn't justify that expense. I can scream around down tight tracks through the bush and not have to worry about scratching the paint work on tree branches as you would on a 40 thou odd vehicle.
The auctions are place to go for a 4x4 alot cheaper ! stuff them car yards . ok just to get ider i gess
last time the boys went down to fowlers aution a toyota hilux ute 06
diesl turbo went for $3.800 60.000klms i was kicking my self for not going down with them . cheap patrols and cruzzers
