Internet at Cape York??

Sorry if this is completely ignorant (i know that internet exists up there), but...

Can anyone tell me if any of the places on the way have internet cafes/ wireless/ access of any sort, even at roadhouses???

I know some of you are from up that way and i guess in bigger areas you have decent internet or you wouldn't be doing too much browsing, but just interested for internet banking and blogging for the family back home??

Hi Angejas,

When we were last up there 2 years ago. the Weipa Camping Ground had public Internet access.

I also recently contacted the Punsand Bay camping ground to enquire about Internet access. They are currently doing some upgrading, which will include Internet Access for park users.

As for other areas, I didn't look so can't really advise you.

Weipa Library has Internet available also. It is open most afternoons (Mon -Friday)

I remember asking at Seisha where I could get some photos transferred from SD card to CD. I was told that Thursday Island has all the facilities and a Kodak shop.If you have a laptop then maybe wireless is the way to go.

Injinoo has internet access, Lockhart has Internet at Library,
Old Mapoon has internet access., Cooktown surely would, weipa ofcourse.
