Hi guys,
Don't know if anyone noticed, but there is a doco. on Cape York showing on Channel 7 @ 2 AM in the morning. I've only just seen the programme, or I'd have let you know sooner.

Hi Xina,

I saw it, circled it so that I would tape it, then fell asleep watching the 20/20 cricket & missed it.

I'd be interested as to which one it was, as to whether I'd seen it before.

There's been lot's produced over the years, some good, some shockers.

If you taped it, please let us know.

Regards

Scorcher

Hi Scorcher,
I have a huge apology to make to you and anyone else who either sat up to watch it, or tried to tape it. I sat up to watch it, and was most dissappointed and disgusted to find that the programme was changed.
I'm really very sorry to give you a bum steer guys.

Hey Xina,

That's good news !! It means that I didn't miss it !!

Just blame it on the TV Guides.

They seem to be hit & miss with their programming.

I recently caught a few shows on the Kimberley's (early morning Ch 7 also), which were great. Ben Cropp & Malcolm Douglas always put together some good shows. It's been 4 years since my last trip over there, and it got me all keen again. Maybe 2009 or 2010.

With the Cape York show's, I've got numerous lying around on VHS throughout the house. One in particular comes to mind. It was about a guy sailing around the tip. He got off at Portland Roads (from memory), found a car "lying around", and took it on a trip across the cape. Another scene had him berleying up some tiger sharks, and then he started shooting them !!!!

It was an absolute bloodbath, and I'm sure with the increased Croc population nowadays, he would have ended up a croc bait

Thanks for the update.

Hi Scorcher,
I WISH HE HAD. He sounds like some of the "Terrorists" who used to come up years ago to fish, and ended up shooting anything that moved. That included some cops who were at Weipa at the time.

I think some of them still get to the Cape now. Some peple told me of morons camped at Janie Creek and set up up a spotlight and guns on the mouth of the creek and shot any croc that came out of the creek night after night.
When we were there a few years ago a giant groper would swim up and you could hand feed it. We were talking to the Laurie the ranger and he said there was two but a couple of idiots decided to shoot one.Just go to show that the idiots are everywhere.Just like the ones on another website showing pics of the Creb track and their 4bs during heavy rain tearing the place up,good for future tourists isnt it.

Saw those post's your talking about on that other site John, and the backers of that site are always pushing the "Tread Lightly" message then you see stuff like that posted on their forum it's pretty dissapointing. I reckon pics displayng that sought of thing we have seen there should be deleted by the administration, gives the wrong people that have never left the city and set foot in a fourby on a dirt track all the ammo they need.

Lets hope that our site keeps the right balance and that we don;t see that sort of stuff here. I know that it wouldn't last too long before it was axed. As the old saying goes "don't destroy what you came to enjoy"
