Hi all,

I'm sure that all of us who post or "lurk" on this website believe that this is THE BEST site available to help us get our regular Cape York fix (wouldn't be game to say anything otherwise, would we ... :)

Just a question as to what other websites/forums each of us look at when not on this one, to further our knowledge on Cape York/ fishing/ 4x4'ing etc.

I frequent:
www.exploreoz.com & www.seafaris.com.au

Thanks for that one Highlift.

I just finished reading all 64 pages (from memory) of that thread. Some good stuff in it !

For those that are mad fishermen/women, the Seafaris website above is a great read, in particular the trip logs. Certainly opens the eyes regarding the fishing opportunities in the rivers down the west side of the cape. They also have a great promotional DVD out presently - 90 minutes of fishing action. I highly recommend it (it's free !).

I now just need to locate their "secret" waterfall up one of those rivers (can only be the Jackson, Doughboy or MacDonald I'm guessing). Any thoughts out there?

Thank you Highlift,
I haven't finished it yet, but it's a bit slow with dial-up, so I do a bit every night. Got that great Croc with a pig in it's mouth pic. Also one of the bridge over the Wenlock finally.
Cheers,
xina.

Secret waterfalls...?!!

Nope, they all dried up.

Sorry, move along now people ... nothing here to see. Especially no waterfalls with barra and great camping spots! :)

Your a funny man Batesy !!

Actually, I'm not referring to that secret waterfall !! The one I'm trying to locate is the one that a certain fishing charter out of Seisia visits.

I promise to keep it as secret ;)

We're going to fish the Cotterill & Doughboy this trip, and was hoping that there was a nice waterfall up one of them to try our luck !

Any thoughts out there?

Dont know if youre aware, but with a small enough boat and good tides you can access the the Doughboy from the Cotteral. I boat was too big for some of the creeks, and even high water it was a bit shallow in parts.

Thanks Campdog,

Yes, I picked that up a while back. We're taking a couple of 12 ft tinny's with 9.9hp & 15 hp. Should be ideal for this area.
