I was there in July and the road was just fine .I hope it is left that way.
The Cape is getting to easy as it is.And that is why we go to these special places to get away of the beaten track so to speak.Virilya is one of those places that with out a doubt you can never get sick of.

We were told too many people go there for weeks on end and the communities are missinin out on camping fees. The idea is to put a new bridge in, repair the roads and put a fence in with a ranger collecting fees, probablt a toile or too.
I think its a great place as well and hate to see it spoiled and turned into a caravan park.

I'd be very surprised if that eventuated, Campdog. If that was the case we'd have a big fence and ranger at Pajinka or Pennefather before anywhere else. And don't forget that Lakefield is largely an honor-box system for fees too. Also the revenue wouldn't cover the cost of employing and housing a ranger.

I hope so too, its a great spot to camp. I was just wondering if any upgrades had been done.Virilya is a popular spot and if people come prepared there is no local spending done to stay for a few weeks.
Lets hope it goes unchanged.
