Batesy I just finished reading the book today, only negative is that it wasnt long enough, should have been a few thousand pages at least, I love reading anything about the cape and this was a great read.

Amazing story, hey?

Makes you wonder how the hell people even survived living up here.

Just the way she told the story is what I like about being an Australian, down to earth and tells it how it was in a way that would be politically incorrect today. Cant help having a laugh about the bloke who shot the brown snake in the long drop toilet with a shotgun. Great movie script.

Going through a secondhand bookstore the other day and found the Weevils book, hardcover version signed and dated by the author, so I grabbed it.

Haven't started to read it, lost interest to be honest.
Who'd of thought there would be 2 books with similar titles.
The one I picked up is titled "Weevils in the Flour", oh well, keep looking.
Hope it's a good read, cost me $30.
