Well seeing as our President Nedly appears to be a bit shy about giving info about our club, I thought I would have a go.
Based in South East Queensland our club is called Breakaway Offroad 4 X 4 and the name is derived from the members enjoying a break from the usual humdrum and getting away to do some 4wdriving and socialising.
With members aged from 18 to mid fifties and residing as far north as the Sunshine Coast and as far south as the Gold Coast, the club places a huge emphasis on the family and social side of the offroad pursuits.
A typical weekend consists of travelling in convoy to either a 4wd park or state forest, doing some 4wdriving on the Saturday and sitting around the campfire with a few drinks on the Saturday night sharing exaggerated recollections of the day followed by some more 4wdriving on the Sunday, before travelling home. We usually split into a number of groups to cater for the novices, those who like the moderate stuff, right through to the insane who do the extreme.
We are a very new club with about twelve families and individuals involved and are looking for more members so if you are interested give me a p.m. on this site.

Sounds like a great club. We are part of a group of friends who do similat things when time permits. Nothing better than spending time in the bush.I suppose thid forum is a kind of breakaway as well.

Yeah I agree Campdog and the good thing about being in a club is that you Know when the trips are on and plan your life to suit and try and make time to attend, otherwise something else always comes up to stop you getting away.

I work in a quarry where we dont find out if we are working the weekend until the Friday arvo so it makes it hard to plan and dont like knocking it back as I want to save for the next trip. With set tripa away it would be easier to plan.

G'day Mt Pockets, yeah kelvin is a very active member of our club and loves his 4wdriving. Your club website looks very good, there appears to be plenty of activity happening maybe some time in the future we could do a joint club trip.
Cheers, Steve.(dipmaker)

Hi Steve,
I will pass that onto our Trip-Co and see what he would like to do. Last year we had a play day at Glendon with the Families club and the deaf club. We had a ball, have to do something like that again.
cheers
