Hi all

We are planning to visit the Cape in jul 08.

Just hoping someone can advise of the LPG availability through to Wiepa

We are about to do an LPG conversion on a 93 80 Series L/Cruiser, however its seems my 90 litre tank has to go....(Not Happy) So in its place is a tank of approx 90 -110 (the installer was not sure) My Bro in law had it done and said he got approx 400k's.....H'way driving. Well thats Crap in my book. Im then left with the 50 litre sub tank and the LPG I dont think thats going to get me far?

any one else with this situation.... (Yes I know should have bought an oil burner)

ps , fantastic Forum you have and piss my self laughing on the general banter...good pics of the Cape and bloody great fishing cant wait to get there.:)

Hi bush Pig

I converted to LPG

Prado 90 series.

Fitted 72 LPG in place of the main tank.

used to get 500 fro the main now get 360 to 400k on lpg plus have the sub of and get 400.

G'day Stoney,
LPG up that way is pretty scarce to non existant.
We didn't head up via the main track, though I'm sure I have read somewhere that LPG is NOT available North of Cairns.
I have to honest, during our trip I was only really interested in diesel.

G'day Stoney,

I think Cooktown is the only fuel stop with LPG.

Can't recall ever seeing it on offer in Weipa and there definitely wouldn't be any on the PDR.

Thanks for the replies.....We will use petrol when the BBQ Gas runs out its not a problem,and going to go and visit Weipa as I reckon its worth it... Just Hope they have enough beer for me:) All the best..................
