Ive heard of petrol/gas and dielsel /gas vehicles, and I found out the other night taht diesels dont run on unleaded.
Cleaning up my back yard the other day and picked up a trailer to cart old cars away,I pulled into the sevo for fuel and couldnt see the bowser, the owner passed me the nozzle and I put $50 bucks in. Got about 4 ks and the old patrol started to cough then died.Didnt like unleaded.Went to call the mrs and my mobile was missing, daughter has it.Quick 3k walk up hill and one heart attack and made it home, collected jerry cans, drained fuel tank, new diesel and away she went.lucky didnt stuff the old girl. So I now have 60litres of diesel unleaded for my lawn mower.
Just wondering what would happen in the middle of the cape if you goy wrong fuel.

How did it go just before it stopped?, did it get a surge of power for a little while?. I've heard of people mixing a small amount of unleaded with their diesel before. Occassionally I use jet A1 mixed with the diesel, it doesn't give heaps more power but the engine runs smoother and I get it for free.

Petrol in a diesel will destroy the seals in your injector pump.

No it didnt surge, just slowly lost power until it stopped. Ive hears a little bit doesnt hurt.
As soon as I got it going I filled it up witha full tank of diesel and a hit of wynns diesel treatment. Seems to be going fine and have been towing the car trailer around.

I hope they gave you a tank of juice for free.
I've tried putting diesel in our petrol cruiser once before, thankfully the nozzle was too big. But not as big as my mouth though, since that was how I came to pick up the wrong hose in the first place ... yapping too much to some other fella filling his car up.
