Howdy Everyone,
We're considering the possibility of turning CapeYorker.com into a regularly updated FREE online publication in the future - something to compliment the magazine.
This means that our main site would feature short articles written by travellers/potential travellers like you.
We will of course offer a payment for these stories/images. Stuff all ... but a payment none-the-less!
Stories can be on anything to do with the Cape: 4WDrive, fishing, camping, destination etc. Stories can be: short and conversational, humorous, serious ... whatever.
We will edit your work and provide feedback to make the experience as easy as possible. We're not after pro articles, we're after real life stories - just your own voice in print.
I enjoy reading the posts you guys put on the forum, but I would love to sit down and read a few words on your adventures/experiences in a story format - as I am sure many others would.
Any feedback on this?
Would you guys like an online version with stories and pics?
And, of course ... would you like to provide the odd personal story yourself.

So............................ If we get paid no matter how small...................
Does that mean a trip to the cape (for research only of coarse) would be tax deductable.

Sounds like it might work, yeah.
I learnt so much from the trip and the first on the list is DONT TAKE SO MUCH STUFF. I had that much canned food and packaged food it's just not funny. I am trying to organise photos but I am back in work and getting home late. I have to work all weekend and be back on tuesday so I hope to start the photos then.
Adventure it wasn't as nothing really too difficult, but by geez we had a ball we watched people drowning veichles in nolans brook. I don't delight in peoples misfortunes but when you tell some one to tarp up and drive it steddy but blaintintly ignore your advice and swamp a new ford explorer nothing to do but laugh. especially as his mate didin't wait for him to cross and had to pull up behind him. The fall were just sensational .
2 favorite camping spots on the OTL were south side of nolans and dulhunty
Seisa was most impressing as i didn't expect much. The camping grounds were clean and 2 min walk to jetty. Watching a little 6 years old local girl catching a barracudda on hand line was just great. Smile from ear to ear.

It's good to hear you had a great time up there, you will probably spend everday thinking about it until you get up there again I know I do, will be 10 years for me 98 was my last time up there plan to be there may, june 08. Too much food ehh that's a mistake I made last time I was up there as well took to much gear could of survived in the scrub for months with what we hauled up, when we got up there we actually ate out a bit spent a bit of money on food in the local communitys good for them and good for us fresh food better than the old tin stuff and there was no washing up except when we were out in the bush.
Will be definately travelling lighter next time round.
It always amazes me when you give someone some friendly advice they don't listen then come unstuck all you can do is laugh.
Can't wait to see your photos

Its east to take too much gear, especially food. My Mrs now works out how many days we will be away and how many meals we will need and starts freeving them up about a month befrore we go, asd still end up bringing some home,Its not a hard chioce between seafood and sausages after a few weeks in the bush. I still take all my spares and bits and pieces and have never used them yet, but bet my left wheel nut I will need it as soon as I leave it at home.
I carry two wheel spanners just in case i lose one.

Good to see you had a good time Yoyo.from what youre saying you didnt get to use your lockers too often. Telecom dozers sure dont add to the adventure of the OTL.
