The poor old truck had a heart attack

Well the enevitable happened the hino aka the yellow beast had a heart attack ie the motor had a catastrophic failure. the story goes it was about 6 at night and I get a call just after finishing dinner and some poor bloke is stuck out 150kms out of weipa in a new nissan patrol so I head on out in the old yellow beast and just after sudley she blows the motor so I hop out to assess the damage a find the motor is shot but luckily for me as weird is this story seems I was standing on the side of the road wondering what the hell to do (the sat phone is away for repair) and no more than a minute goes by and a car comes along the road and turns to be my mechanic joe who is driving back from the weekend down in cairns how is that for luck of the draw anyway he runs me back into town and I grab my cruiser ute and head back out to get the bloke who has broken down and finally get out there at 11.50 and find out that he has run out of fuel and for anyone who knows how a nissan sub tank works it pumps the fuel from the rear to the main when you push the button so this bloke hasn't pushed the button an the main is empty so all I do is pump the fuel into the main and bleed the fuel system and away we go damn it some people are stupid!! anyway the poor tow truck got picked up this morning and luckly I had a spare motor at the workshop that is getting fitted tommorow so it all worked out all right well thats my rant.

anyone who knows how a nissan sub tank works it pumps the fuel from the rear to the main when you push the button

1 thing Nissan are good at is saving a few dollars. 1 high pressure pump on the main tank, 1 fish tank pump on the sub tank.

Come on it's 32 litre's, save's ya finding somwhere to put the jerry can. just another way to save a few dollars i guess.

Should have got a cab chassis, the sub is 80 litres.

Sorry to hear about the Yellow Beasy Kingchevy, at least you had a suitable donor for the transplant.

we are at the caravan park said hi to chevy ,his truck looked pretty sad out on the road south. we ewill be leaving on friday to carry on north

its allright now the poor old girl has a new heart altough slightly underpowered compared to the original but she is a gooer finished it today so its allright if you break down now tully I can come and get you :)
