your right there camp dog vrilya is a top place but for the rubbish and fishing nets.then you go down to the pennyfather and the crew there have done a great job cleaning the beach.some of the biggest crabs ive ever seen have come from the pennyfather.

I dont know how many of you guys have crossed nolans brook this year but aparently theres been about 15 or16 cars drowned in it this year so far. I passed one bloke on the otl and i said to make sure he walks it. I was told he sat in the middle for two and a half hours up to his waste in water. another bloke I was talking to didnt walk it and he flooded his car. A third got through in a low clearance twin cab rodeo got hung up on the left hand exit on the southern side, so instead of waiting to get snatched up the last bit he back down into the water and flooded his truck. stuffed his engle fridge stereo uhf the lot unreal some blokes just for the sake of walking the creek.

About 4.5m , Getting in was a bit wild as there hadnt been much traffic.I think we were about 4th or 5th in there, so there was a bit of road cleating and side tracking, but well worth it.Certainly knocked my mates boat around a bit.Still have to finish working on the trailer.Still got 9 months to get ready before we go back.

When I was there in 2006 the road in had just been graded and was in good condition. The bloke in the information centre at Bamaga said an aboriginal elder had been buried there and the road upgraded to get 2wd vehicles in. Dont know anything about the person though.

Had a fish at Calide Dam a few years ago and couldnt get a fish. Ive been told its local knowledge that helps get the fish. Met up with a bloke from Biloela way in 06 on the Cape and traveled with him for a few days. he lives in a little town near a pub.His name is Brian Bliss.

Local knowledge isn't anything, persistance is everything.
110cm 25kg. Out there the other day and saw about 50 just swimming past the bank in the shallows. Saw 3 big ones belly up in the water, the dam is about 7% at the moment. Through the lure in front of their noses but just to cold to care. If you're ever coming through again, let us know.
