While camping at Virilya Point in May this year I witnessed people taking risks where crocs and sharks are cocerned.
With the big tides it was necessary to leave the boat out a long way fron the shore at low tide. You iether keep moving it in with the tide, left it until next low or wade out to the boat,After a few days other fishos took the lazy option and waded out of an arvo.
If your wondering what the dot is between the boats look at the next photo.

Funny that his only real concern was not getting his shirt wet!!

They also parked on the beach near the tide line and clean fish and bury the frames in the sand, so he probably waldked out over it.

Is there a shortage of common-sense in the world?
Sometimes I really think that people underestimate the killing ability of a croc.
I remember seeing footage of a fishing guide (may even have been Dave Donald) showing a croc barely one meter underwater - and here's the thing... you could barely even see the bloody thing lying there.

That pic is pretty disturbing, If a saltie did happen along in waste deep water it would of been all over him 4 in that situation he wouldn't be able 2 run or swim away. And with salties the way they are will attack anything he's very lucky.

Not just the crocs but we saw some pretty big sharks up there as well.

True too if a Tiger or Hammerhead came a long I am sure they may of given him bit of a taste test.

Exactly what we saw, hammerhaed and tigers anong with a million stingrays,
We found if was a long time between tides we just hooked the snatch strap onto the boat and drag it to where we thought the tide would be in the morning or take turns moving the boat as the tide came in.I totally refused to walk out over knee deep water.

That is the problem with Common sense Batesy, it's not that common.
