What is it about Cape York that can get your blood pumping just thinking about the place and the excitement about getting there after a year of preparation.Im not long back from the Cape and still I feel just as excited about the place as the capeyorkkers that are about to leave.
It seems to get in your blood and into your mind and becomes your life. It takes me months to stop thinking about being there.
I just wonder if going to any other part of Australia has the same hold on people.Or is it the kind of people that go there make it what it is.

Campdog, I've never been there before, but I know exactly how you feel.
Seems these days all I do is think about the Peninsula.
I can't wait to get there and experience the place, culture and people.
Only 36 days to go.
Already thinking of which areas we'll go to next year.
Lakefield, yeah, that sounds good, then back via Lawn Hill.

OBSESSION: the complete capture of the mind by some idea; a persistent preoccupation.

I think it is just a persistent idea of not having to go to work and being able to see some of the most beautiful places in the world, that are almost on your door step. Every state in OZ has 1 or 2 and I want to see them all, and if I can do it with my wife and kid's and a few good mates, it will make for trips that I will never forget.

and the cape is next on the list.

My plan is the same every year, go back and find a spot I liked and spend a few days there.I have next years trip planned already.
